What Does Insights as a Service Mean?

Insights as a service (abbreviated as IaaS, as is infrastructure as a service) is a type of cloud service that involves providing specific data results. It essentially combines the idea of business intelligence with the concept of vendor-delivered cloud services and analytics.

Like other kinds of cloud services such as software as a service, communications as a service, infrastructure as a service and platform as a service, the idea of insights as a service revolves around the idea of web-delivered services that supplement the business's in-house IT architecture. Unlike these other types of services, however, insights as a service takes the data and refines it for certain types of actionable results. Insights as a service can be considered a subset of predictive analytics, or as an associated discipline that helps to provide business value through the cloud.
