David Adams, Cateo Hilton, and Tre’von Davis met as Apprentices in Life Pieces and each young man became a Junior Mentor supporting younger boys in our programming. Now students at Delaware State University (DSU), the three young men have founded their own mentoring program rooted in the principles and values of LPTM. Their program, “Brothers in Power,” is piloting at a local Delaware high school and will grow to serve youth in Dover, DE and first-generation college students at DSU. David and Cateo were featured in an April 2023 episode of the Global Youth Matters podcast, speaking about their growth, their co-founded mentoring program, and Cateo’s prestigious internship at the Office of the Lieutenant Governor of Delaware. Meanwhile, Tre’von was just elected as Recording Secretary of the DSU student government on the platform of “Advocacy, Consistency, Transparency (ACT)” and “Student First! Leader Second!”
